Overview
We joined IBTTA in Orlando for the newly named, Annual Technology Summit. Building on years of growing interest and participation, the Technology Summit covered an array of new technological applications and business practices which are increasingly being incorporated into tolling operations.
Four breakout tracks took place: Technology, Managed Lanes, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and the return of the popular "Tech" Talks. This Summit will engage new participants through partnerships with ITS International MaaS Market, the TRB Committee on Managed Lanes and TRB Committee on Congestion Pricing and the Alliance for Toll Interoperability (ATI).
Cubic showcased its Road User Charging solution designed for multiagency use while allowing each tolling entity to have control over its own business rules, revenue apportionment and general ledger. The solution lays a solid foundation for account-based payment processing and customer services across entire states or multistate regions for any number of agencies or types of operators.
CTS is the market-leading, technology provider of integrated solutions that increase situational understanding and decrease urban congestion for transportation customers worldwide.

Today’s electronic toll collection back-office systems are proprietary custom implementations. Changes to keep up with evolving business rules and advancements in Web, mobile and payment processing are expensive and time-consuming.
In contrast, NextCity for Tolling introduces an advanced modern system architecture based on off-the-shelf, best-of-breed components instead of the traditional custom and proprietary approach. Cubic has integrated and customized these components to provide a comprehensive next-generation tolling system.
