Rasheed Behrooznia Promoted to Vice President of Engineering for the Americas
SAN DIEGO, CALIF., October 9, 2014 – Cubic Transportation Systems, a leading integrator of information technology and payment systems and services for intelligent travel solutions, has promoted Dave Blue to vice president of sales and account management and Rasheed Behrooznia to vice president of engineering, both for North and South America, and has moved Pradip Mistry to vice president of research and development.
“We’re excited that Dave has taken on this new position. He brings extensive experience from the payments and banking industries, which is a key emphasis for us in new projects that employ account-based open payment technologies,” said Matt Newsome, senior vice president and general manager, Cubic Transportation Systems, Americas. “He’ll be responsible for building growth in the Americas in support of our NextCity vision for the integration of all forms of transportation through payment and information technology and services.”
He began his career at Cubic in 2006 as director of sales and marketing for North America. Most recently, as the director of strategic accounts, Blue has been involved in the contract awards and ongoing growth of the TransLink system in Vancouver, the Clipper Card system in the San Francisco Bay Area, the TAP program in Los Angeles, the Compass Card program in San Diego and the fare collection system for Edmonton Transit System in Edmonton, Canada.
Prior to joining Cubic, Blue worked in the payment services industry with companies including First Data Corporation, Oberthur Technologies and Rocky Mountain Bankcard. His background includes senior roles in sales and marketing, product development, product management and IT management.
Newsome continued, “I’m very pleased to also announce the promotion of Rasheed Behrooznia. His experience as a leader in Agile and Earned Value environments equips him well to successfully manage our engineering teams to meet our company’s goals and enhance our growth.”
Behrooznia has been with Cubic for more than two years where he has served as a senior principal software engineer. Prior to Cubic, Behrooznia spent nine years at Lockheed Martin where his position was engineering product program manager. Previous to Lockheed, Behrooznia was a software engineer for technology and government companies including Nicom Networks and ViaSat.
Behrooznia transitions to this new role, which was previously held by Pradip Mistry, who has been appointed vice president of research and development. As vice president of engineering, Mistry led the engineering team on several key Cubic contracts, including Chicago, New York, and several Far East projects. Mistry’s new worldwide responsibilities include the identification and development of new capabilities across Cubic’s global transportation business.
“I am excited that we have someone of Pradip’s technological expertise and leadership to drive our innovation initiatives going forward,” said Matt Cole, executive vice president, strategy, business development and diversification for Cubic Transportation Systems. “He’s taking up a pivotal role in helping us define new technologies that will solve customer challenges and enable them to deliver on the customer experience expectations of their ridership.”
