Cubic Transportation Systems builds the case for linking payments and accounts through a single account platform

SAN DIEGO – Feb. 16, 2018 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced its

Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division will lead the discussion on the financial engine needed to drive Mobility as a Service (MaaS) at the MaaS Market: Concept to Delivery conference. The event, organized by the publisher ITS International, will be held at the Immarsat Conference Centre in London on February 20 - 21, and will focus on the latest developments in MaaS from theory to practical delivery.

“The need for a financial engine linking payments and accounts will be critical to building a true multi-modal environment as we evolve toward MaaS,” said Andy Taylor, strategy director for CTS. “We will discuss the implications for such an engine, the need for account-based solutions, the issues and practicalities of setting up and managing such a platform, and very importantly, who owns and operates the engine.”

At its core, MaaS is about planning a complete journey using one or any combination of travel modes while purchasing all mobility services from a single account. Cubic’s One Account provides the platform that enables this payment capability to happen.

Public transport utilization is increasing in urban areas because of growing populations, a trend that requires new transportation models to deliver efficient solutions for both the user and operator. MaaS also has the ability to help drive social equity and cost savings to cities and deliver benefits to the traveler.

Taylor will present the following topic within Session 2: Technology and Common Standards: Mobility and Planning:

  • Building a MaaS financial engine

Tuesday, February 20, 1:50 p.m.
