SAN DIEGO – May 11, 2017 – Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced that its executives will discuss topics related to “LEAD the TRANSITion,” the theme of the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from May 15 – 18. “Managing the transportation demands within the available infrastructure is critical today, and continues to grow as the global population becomes more urbanized. This must be managed by intelligent use of travel patterns and behavior to more equitably distribute traveler loads on the public and private transportation networks,” said Matt Cole, president of CTS. “Cubic’s NextCity vision brings together the technologies needed to support this equity.”

- Gateless Gateline: a prototype system that integrates future ticketing technologies including biometrics to support a doubled rate of passenger throughput. The fast-track entry system is designed to meet a projected doubling in the number of passenger rail journeys over the next 30 years. The program is being developed at the Cubic Innovation Centre in London, partially funded by a grant from the U.K.’s Railway Standards and Safety Board. This will be the first public showing of this prototype technology and system.
- The Cubic Virtual Ticket Agent: a hybrid of a virtual walk-up ticket office and ticket vending machine video-linked to a live operator at a call center.
