SAN DIEGO – Sept. 5, 2019 – Cubic Corporation today announced Crissy Ditmore, director of strategy for its Cubic Transportation Systems business division will be a speaker at transit and community development conference Rail~Volution, taking place September 8–11 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Celebrating its 25th year, Rail~Volution engages transportation change makers and thought leaders with its vision to transform America’s cities into economically vibrant, socially equitable and environmentally sustainable places. Ditmore will represent Cubic in a workshop exploring how the partnership between Cubic, Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), Uber and Mastercard led to a successful open payment environment pilot program.

“I’m excited to represent Cubic at Rail~Volution this year in Vancouver, where we also proudly serve the region’s transportation authority, TransLink,” said Ditmore. “I look forward to the opportunity to speak alongside our innovative industry partners to discuss our pilot program and how we leveraged open payment technologies to create a seamless travel and payment experience between the shared first- and last-mile.”

Ditmore will participate in the following workshop session taking place at the Hyatt Regency:

“First- and Last-Mile Links in an Open Payment Environment”

Wednesday, September 11; 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (local time)
Open payment technology provides an easy user experience, even for first timers. But it can also be used to nudge riders to shift modes. Learn how Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation partnered with Cubic Transportation Systems, Mastercard and Uber. Hear how they used this technology to link trips, encourage new riders toward transit, and free up limited parking at a nearby park-and-ride.

As a leading integrator of payment and information solutions and related services for intelligent travel applications in the transportation industry, Cubic strives to improve mobility in the world’s greatest cities. Cubic invests in the future transportation workforce and supports organizations that lead urban mobility and livability.

Vancouver is a great example of the interplay between transit and land-use, as evidenced by the mixed-use densification around the recent rail transit investments such as the Canada and Evergreen Lines,” said Matt McDonagh, business development manager for West Coast, North America. “With ride-hail service slated to launch in Vancouver later this year, it’ll be critically important to learn from other cities and agencies on how to leverage ancillary mobility service providers to maximize mobility and accessibility for residents.

In addition, Cubic is a New Rail~Volutionaries Young Leader Event Sponsor and will be sponsoring the following events:
