Cubic Transportation Systems executive recognized for people-centered and inclusive vision of Mobility as a Service
SAN DIEGO – Aug. 1, 2018– Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced that Matt Cole, senior vice president and president of its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division, was named “MaaS Influencer of the Year” by the BMaaS Awards. Hosted by BusinessMaaS.com, the awards recognize key companies, individuals and initiatives that are helping to improve and innovate the adoption of Mobility as a Service in the business sector.
“I’m incredibly honored by the award which I accept on behalf of my entire team at CTS. Over the last year, my goal has been to accelerate the MaaS evolution and set clear objectives for responsible, people-centered and socially inclusive MaaS,” said Cole. “Being recognized as a top industry influencer in this area will allow me to drive this idea further and in particular, encourage real industry discussion about the importance of the role of public transit agencies in the future of mobility.”
Over seven years ago, Cole created and launched Cubic’s NextCity strategy, a revolutionary vision in city management and integrated traveler payment and information. He has since involved and implemented this NextCity vision as Cubic’s MaaS strategy, centered on three core principles – the delivery of an integrated customer experience, a single user account for all travel needs and integrated operations and analytics.
Earlier this year, Cole published a white paper titled “Mobility as a Service, Putting Transit Front and Center of the Conversation,” in which he argued for a greater role of public transit service providers in driving the MaaS effort forward. A complimentary copy of the white paper can be downloaded at www.cubic.com/maas.
In addition to Cole’s win, Andy Taylor, director of strategy for CTS, was shortlisted for the Best Influencer (Individual) award and Cubic Transportation Systems was shortlisted for the Best Influencer (Company) category.
