Cubic Transportation Systems to promote MaaS and its benefits for cities, communities and transit agencies

SAN DIEGO – June 27, 2018 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced Andy Taylor, director of strategy for its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division has been appointed to the board of directors for the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Alliance. The MaaS Alliance, launched in 2015 by ERTICO, is a public-private partnership with the aim of creating the foundations for a common approach to MaaS and unlocking the economies of scale needed for successful implementation of MaaS in Europe and beyond.

“I’m honored and pleased to be elected to represent Cubic in this important alliance,” said Taylor. “Cubic’s mission is to accelerate the evolution of MaaS by putting public transit in the driver’s seat and considering the wider objectives of a city and a region in MaaS implementation efforts. Being part of the alliance helps us achieve this vision globally.”

MaaS is generally understood as a vision of future mobility where travel happens through a combination of public, private and shared transportation modes. Cubic’s MaaS strategy centers on its NextCity vision, underpinned by three core principles: the delivery of an integrated customer experience, a single user account for all travel needs and integrated operations and analytics.

“We are delighted to welcome Andy to the board of directors. Cubic has been our trusted partner since the very formation of the alliance and we’re looking forward to drawing on Andy’s extensive experience and knowledge in promoting and supporting MaaS initiatives in Europe and around the world,” said Rasmus Lindholm, ERTICO director of communications and partnership development.

Cubic is one of the founding members of the MaaS Alliance, which was created through a joint effort of more than 20 organizations, including universities, European Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) organizations, public authorities and industry.
