Cubic’s Supplier Diversity Officer to highlight ways in which businesses can become more involved in New York’s projects in transportation, construction and technology

SAN DIEGO – March 18, 2019Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced its Supplier Diversity Officer, Thuston Britt, will participate in City & State’s Diversity Summit to discuss how businesses with operations in New York can advance through diversity and inclusion. Taking place on March 21 in New York City, the summit offers industry executives, public sector leaders and academics a full-day conference dedicated to fostering business partnerships between the state and local government, prime contractors and minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE).

“At Cubic we work hard to promote business opportunities for small businesses; businesses owned and operated by disadvantaged persons, women, veterans; historically black and tribal colleges; and minority institutions,” said Britt. “I look forward to offering insights through a supplier diversity standpoint on ways in which businesses can become more involved in the major MWBE projects in New York.”

Last year, Cubic was awarded a contract from the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to replace the MetroCard System with a new fare payment system. Cubic’s solution not only provides customers with an improved way to pay for transit, but also creates expanded economic opportunity for New Yorkers and job creation across the state through the involvement of minority and women-owned enterprises to help implement the new system.

Britt will participate in the following discussion taking place at the National Geographic Encounter:

  • Becoming a Part of New York’s Biggest MWBE Projects: From Sunnyside Yard to East Side Access and beyond, construction and development projects are taking place across the city. What kinds of contracting opportunities does this present? Panelists discuss opportunities to become part of the city’s biggest projects in transportation, construction, technology and more.

Date/Time: Thursday, March 21 at 1:25 p.m. EST.
