Cubic Transportation Systems envisions customer and agency convenience with the use of mobile apps for tolling
SAN DIEGO – Oct. 10, 2018 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division will share industry insight on the value of mobile payments and associated functionalities for toll systems, in addition to showcasing its Road User Charging Back Office at the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) 86th Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Taking place in Baltimore, Maryland from October 14–16, IBTTA is the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve tolling.
“The latest generation of mobile applications for major transit agencies can provide valuable information for toll authorities and their customers,” said Ken Karnes, global mobile business development director, CTS. “Mobile apps enable comprehensive account management for real-time information, access to payment sources and case management. They also allow for linking payment to an intelligent multi-modal trip planning engine for travelers to determine the most cost-effective and timely route for travel, as well as a single payment source for travel across all modes.”
Karnes will present at the following session within the “Mobile Payments – Tolling on the Edge of a Revolution” technology track:
- “Innovations in Transportation Mobile Apps and Applicability to Mobile Toll Systems”
Tuesday, October 16, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. (local time); Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, 700 Aliceanna Street, Baltimore, Harborside Ballroom.
Additionally, Cubic will feature its Road User Charging Back Office solution designed for multiagency use, while allowing each tolling entity to have control over its own business rules, revenue apportionment and general ledger. The solution lays a solid foundation for account-based payment processing and customer services across entire states or multistate regions for any number of agencies or types of operators.
