Cubic Transportation Systems (ITMS) Limited to deliver maintenance to critical ITS infrastructure for seamless transport experience

SAN DIEGO – August 12, 2015 – Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation(NYSE: CUB), today announced it has been awarded the Tunnel Outstation Maintenance Services (TOMS) contract by Transport for London (TfL). The contract, delivering maintenance of critical Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure within TfL’s 12 road tunnels and the associated 90 kilometers of road corridors, extends Cubic’s successful history in delivering this service for the next 10 years.

Supported by radio systems supply partner, Simoco EMEA, Cubic will commence mobilization of the contract in August 2015 and begin full service delivery by February 2016. This specialty maintenance service puts Cubic at the heart of TfL’s vision, ‘Keeping London Moving,’ and supports Cubic’s position as one of TfL’s leading strategic delivery partners.

“London’s 12 tunnels are used by hundreds of thousands of vehicles every day. We are therefore always looking to ensure that the technology within them is kept as modern and dynamic as possible,” said Dana Skelley, director of asset management at TfL. “This new contract is key to keeping our tunnels operational, allowing us to help keep London moving as part of our wider Road Modernization Plan.”

“This is an extremely important and exciting win for Cubic. We are confident in our efforts to enhance the transport experience for commuters using London’s critical tunnel infrastructure,” said John Pickworth, business development director, Cubic Transportation Systems in U.K. and Europe. “Central to Cubic’s successful delivery is our partnering approach with TfL, which promotes innovation and investment in services, technology and people to deliver a world-class transport network to London.”

“This award is a testament to Cubic’s approach to driving high service levels and on-going improvements throughout the life of a contract. What helped us stand out were our new service solutions and improvement plans coordinated by people across Cubic while ensuring our customer’s needs are anticipated, met – and exceeded,” said Chris Bax, managing director of Cubic ITMS, a subsidiary of Cubic Transportation Systems. “With the move to a dedicated new service center in East London, Cubic is ready to deliver exemplary service for TfL as it works to keep London on the move.”
