ARLINGTON, Virginia – July 3, 2012 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) celebrated the Independence Day holiday by showing its support for the new National Museum of the United States Army to be built in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Cubic is presenting a check for $40,000 to the Army Historical Foundation (AHF) this month as part of its five-year commitment to the planned museum. Thanks to contributions from companies like Cubic, the foundation is close to reaching its $200 million goal. The museum will chronicle the extraordinary efforts of Army men and women during the service’s 237-year history and honor their service through artifacts, documents, works of art and interactive displays.

Founded in 1951, Cubic Corporation has been doing business with the U.S. Army for more than 50 years. Early in its history, Cubic developed missile tracking systems and distance measuring devices for the U.S. Army. Cubic’s electronic mapping system aboard the Sequential Collation of Range (SECOR) satellite conducted the first geodetic survey of the earth’s surface, helping the U.S. Army Map Service to remap more than two-thirds of the earth’s surface during the 1960s.
Cubic currently supplies MILES Individual Weapons System and Tactical Vehicle System training equipment to the Army, and more recently began providing systems to track the location of Army vehicles and for processing geospatial intelligence. It is a leading provider of mission support services in premier Army training and education venues such as the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana; the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California; the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Georgia; the Combined Arms Center/National Simulation Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; the Korean Battle Simulation Center at Yongsan and Camp Casey, Republic of Korea; and the Sustainment Center of Excellence at Fort Lee, Virginia.
Its EST 2000 virtual training systems that the Army uses for marksmanship, collective and judgmental training, save the U.S government millions of dollars annually in ammunition costs in the U.S. and while deployed in locations like Afghanistan and Kuwait. Cubic provided an EST 2000 system to the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center at Fort Benning.
The company has also honored the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps over the years through significant contributions to the Air Armament Museum at Eglin Air Force Base and the USS Midway Museum in San Diego. Cubic created an air combat training exhibit aboard the Midway honoring Navy and Marine Corps strike and fighter pilot tactical training that is popularly known as TOPGUN.
