Cubic Transportation Systems to demonstrate cloud back office, Cubic Virtual Ticket Agent along with mobile and payment technologies
SAN DIEGO – October 5, 2017 – Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced that its executives will discuss a variety of topics related to the current and future landscape of transportation from October 8–11, at the 2017 APTA Annual Meeting & EXPO in Atlanta, Georgia. CTS will also demonstrate how the company and its transportation agency clients are leading innovation in the sector.

- Managing integration between cloud apps, devices and in-house systems: demonstration of API management and how easy it is for third-party developers to connect to the Cubic back office and the benefits of cloud-based architecture.
- The Cubic Virtual Ticket Agent: a hybrid of a virtual walk-up ticket office and ticket vending machine video-linked to a live operator at a call center. The system helps public transit agencies to decrease or eliminate the need for customer service representatives at the least busy stations on a rail line, improve customer service at unattended devices and more easily address clients speaking different languages.
- Mobile ticketing and One Account: demonstrations of mobile ticketing, trip planning and payment trends. Demo will also show how a single account or funding source is the future of urban mobility, along with pay-as-you-go, account-based ticketing and Near Field Communication.
- NextBus: designed for multimodal transit agencies, authorities and operators, the NextBus Suite introduces a new Transit Management as a Service (TMaaS), cloud-based, machine learning architecture that will deliver the industry’s most intuitive trio of RTPI, proactive transit operations and mobile fare payments including services, software and hardware.
