Cubic commits to providing the Canadian defence industry with best military training technologies

SAN DIEGO, Calif., May 25, 2015 – Cubic Global Defense, a business of Cubic Corporation(NYSE: CUB) will demonstrate the latest innovations in game-based training technologies for improved military readiness and education capabilities at the CANSEC 2015 defence and security trade show from May 27-28, in Ottawa, Canada. Produced by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries, CANSEC is Canada’s premier defence trade show and hosts more than 30 international delegations and embassies as well as a large number of representative companies from the industry.

“Cubic is at the forefront of what’s next in game-based virtual training for the military as it provides cost efficient, effective and realistic learning scenarios,” said Martin Munro, General Manager of Cubic Field Services Canada. “Our presence at CANSEC is an opportunity to share Cubic’s leading innovations in virtual military training to those in the Canadian defence industry.”

Some of the next-generation training technologies and products to be exhibited include:

  • Maritime Courseware: Demonstration in a virtual environment to teach maintenance personnel how to align and start a potable water pump as well as to identify faults and hazards within a ship’s space in accordance with accepted procedure and good watch-standing principles for proper repairs.
  •  Micro, Mobile, Modular-Secure Enclave (M3-SE): Small, secure and man-portable networking communications systems by Cubic subsidiary DTECH LABS, which provide a wide-range of capability modules, supporting everything from standard routing and switching functions to server applications, radio cross banding, ISDN, NSA approved Algorithm Suite B Wi-Fi, and 3G/4G wireless.
  • Wireless Vehicle Sensor: The high sensitivity, multiple code, vehicle-mounted laser detector is designed to replace cumbersome tactical vehicle detector systems.  The new sensors wirelessly connect with the vehicle control unit to reduce vehicle installation time and complexity.  Each sensor also incorporates high power strobes within it to eliminate the need for separate vehicle hit status indicator lights and mast.   The distributed detectors mount lower on the turret than a central 360-degree detector allowing them to be less prone to tree strikes with no changes to the vehicle silhouette.
  • ACMI-ICADS: Two-on-the-ground, Portable Display and Debriefing Systems (PDDS) used by aircrew to replay their missions on the Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS). The Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation (ACMI) system has the unique ability of combining different data sources and displaying training missions onto the ICADS windows for both live monitoring and replay.
