NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland – September 17, 2012 - Cubic Defense Applications is showcasing its mission-ready live, virtual and constructive training technologies at the Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition from September 17-19 in National Harbor, Maryland. The new technologies will be highlighted in Booth #341 in the Gaylord National Resort exhibition hall.

The centerpiece of Cubic’s exhibit will be a 360-degree immersive dome solution optimized for Joint Terminal Air Controller (JTAC) training - the Joint Fires Integrated Training Environment.

Featuring trouble-free handling and easy setup, the Joint Fires Integrated Training Environment is a joint effort of Cubic SDS International and Nova Technologies that incorporates products that are certified or in use by the U.S Air Force, U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. It includes an inflatable or hard shell home, projectors, automatic camera-based calibration for assured visual environment realism and consistency, and image generator.

Cubic will also highlight its Mission Rehearsal Planning System (MRPS), a powerful, deployable planning and rehearsal training tool allowing  units, leaders and teams to operate and train for any real-world mission fully immersed in an integrated Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) operational environment. It provides a joint planning workstation that is the only known system employing a powerful low overhead constructive simulation coupled with “touch screen” immersive technologies. MRPS also features computers and gaming engines with selected mission planning tools to virtually plan, prepare, rehearse and execute any mission anywhere.

Cubic’s Cyber Solutions division will promote full range of certified and accredited cross-domain transfer appliances that ensure secure access to data and services in a multi-level domain environment. This division can also assist with architecture design, product development and deployment, secure enterprise network architecture and engineering, and deep expertise in security testing. Cubic’s XDS Guard version 1.0 and version 1.1 (XD-10G) is currently listed on the United Cross-Domain Management Office (UCDMO) Cross Domain inventory, and has passed certification, test and evaluation by the Defense Intelligence Agency for Top Secret and Above Information.

Cubic will also highlight its role as the Lead Systems Architect and Systems Integrator for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Pilot Project. One goal of this project is to integrate virtual and constructive entities with live participants, providing cost-effective substitutes for live surface-to-air threats, airborne threats, and friendly participants. Cubic’s leading-edge air combat training systems, used by fighter and strike pilots worldwide, will provide the live piece of the LVC equation.

For tactical communications products, Cubic presents the Multiband Miniature Transceiver, or MMT, a small and lighter weight intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) data link system that enables simultaneous Ku band and C band transmissions using dual data streams. The MMT’s smaller size benefits both manned and unmanned air platforms by aiding fuel conservation and it is easier for ground troops to transport. It supports data rates up to 45 Mbps in CDL modes and supports AES-256 encryption.

Cubic will also promote its newest, second-generation Personnel Locator System (PLS), which features the latest in advanced microelectronics to increase reliability and performance while providing a significant reduction in both size and weight. For over two decades, Cubic’s Personnel Locator Systems have been the standard combat search-and-rescue system for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and NATO Forces.
