Former pararescuman to provide expertise in advanced medical training to Cubic Global Defense’s NEK Services
SAN DIEGO, August 11, 2015 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced the appointment of James Sanchez, former U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, as Special Operations Medical Director of its NEK Services subsidiary. In this new role, Sanchez will expand Cubic Global Defense’s NEK offerings in specialized medical training within their overall medical lifesaver program.
With more than 28 years of experience in the U.S. Air Force, Sanchez’s areas of expertise include emergency medicine; global search and rescue operations of aircrew members; research, planning and executing successful military operations and counter terrorism activities in hostile environments; and recovery of downed and sensitive equipment, regardless of geographical location, climate or conditions. Sanchez is also extensively trained in areas of weapons and tactics, survival, navigation, mountain climbing, scuba diving and free-fall parachuting, which are fundamental for specialized medical training in special operations forces.
“As a former pararescueman and a long-time respected medical advisor in the military training industry, James knows what is expected of emergency responders in different field conditions and environments,” said Jeffrey Keers, deputy general manager of Cubic NEK. “James’ strong leadership and extensive background in medical training will be a valuable asset to Cubic’s integrated training for special operations forces, law enforcement and other governmental agencies.”
Sanchez began his military service in 1983 and was assigned to the 41st Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron at McClellan Air Force Base (AFB), California, upon completion of Pararescue Indoctrination Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. His other assignments included the 33rd Air Rescue Squadron Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan; team leader at the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Pope AFB, North Carolina; Director of Training at the U.S. Air Force Pararescue School, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico; and the Chief Enlisted Manager at 306th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona.
Sanchez is a decorated military veteran earning various awards including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, National Defense Service and Armed Forces Service Medal.
