SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 29, 2013 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), announced today that Aviation Week has ranked the company as the number one  top performing aerospace and defense company for reporting revenues between $1 billion and $5 billion. The full list and related stories appear in the May 27, 2013 issue of Aviation Week, available now at AviationWeek.com/tpc.

“We’re honored to see Cubic ranked #1 once again on Aviation Week’s ‘Top Performing Aerospace and Defense Companies’ list,” said William Boyle, chief executive officer of Cubic Corporation. “At Cubic, we continuously strive to create a culture that fosters innovation and have a genuine commitment to provide superior results for our customers.”

The rankings are based on proprietary metrics developed by Aviation Week and A&D analysts that compare companies’ performance in their peer group. Metrics embedded in four performance categories, including Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), Earnings Momentum, Asset Management and Financial Health, were the criteria used to determine the leading companies.

“Cubic Corporation’s operating performance was outstanding in 2013, achieving the highest top-performing companies score and besting a formidable group of peers to take the number one ranking,” said Michael K. Lowry, project manager, Top Performing Companies, Aviation Week. “The company should be proud of its accomplishment, never resting on its laurels.”

The magazine will honor Cubic and the other category winners on June 18 at the Paris Air Show.
