Cubic recognized for dedication to developing resources and curriculum for STEM based education and careers

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 5, 2015 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced that it has been designated a 2015 STEM JobsSM Approved Employer by Victory Media, the leader in connecting professionals in transition with education and career opportunities, and creator of STEM JobsSM media, curriculum and career resources for high school students and K-12 educators. The 2015 STEM JobsSM Approved Employers inaugural list is the first of its kind to rate companies on their responsiveness to creating and filling high-demand, high-growth occupations in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM).

“Cubic is committed to developing and supporting STEM based education and initiatives to help ensure the next-generation takes interest and excels in these vital industries,” said Bradley H. Feldmann, president and chief executive officer of Cubic. “We are proud to be recognized in this inaugural ranking and hope it encourages other organizations to support valuable STEM related programs.”

Companies that submitted surveys were scored on publicly available data and responses to proprietary questions around three key indicators of success: STEM hiring practices and career path opportunities, workforce diversity in STEM positions, and outreach to and alignment with STEM education programs.

“With STEM Jobs Approved Employers, we’re able to help parents, students, educators and employers evaluate how well education is translating into real-world jobs, and how responsive companies are to meeting those demands,” said Daniel Nichols, President of STEM Jobs. “We’re pleased to showcase companies like Cubic that are leading the way in providing long-term STEM jobs and career opportunities.”

Cubic’s STEM programs include the Cubic Intern Workshop Series, which offers high school students career training and mentoring, as well as the Young Entrepreneur and Scholar (YES) program, which helps prepare academically talented students to enter the workforce or continue on to advanced studies. In addition, Cubic’s charitable giving program supports STEM innovative robotics and engineering programs for elementary and high school students.

The Top 25 STEM Jobs Approved Employers are featured in the Spring 2015 issue of STEM Jobs magazine, and the complete list is available at stemjobs.com.
