National Association of Corporate Directors Fellows Recognizes Commitment to the Highest Levels of Corporate Governance and Leadership in the Boardroom

SAN DIEGO – April 26, 2016 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced that the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) recently recognized John D. “Jay” Thomas, executive vice president and chief financial officer, as an NACD Governance Fellow. NACD Fellows, who earn NACD Fellowship—The Gold Standard Director Credential™, are recognized as being among the highest level of those committed to excellence in the boardroom.

As the standard of credentialing for directors and governance professionals, NACD Fellowship is a comprehensive and continuous program of study that empowers NACD Fellows with the latest insights, intelligence and leading boardroom practices—year-after-year.

“I am very pleased to become a part of the NACD Fellows community and I’m committed to upholding the NACD mission of promoting the utmost standards of boardroom leadership,” said Thomas. “The NACD Fellowship program will bring tremendous value to the Cubic organization through its resources and insight on achieving excellence in corporate governance.”

Thomas joined Cubic in 1980 and has held a variety of executive positions with the corporation. In his current role, he is responsible for strategy, investor and public relations, corporate finance and accounting, real estate and oversight of all employee benefit plans.

“We are proud to announce that “Jay” Thomas has joined NACD’s credentialed directors and has taken the next step in the pursuit of boardroom excellence,” said Ken Daly, CEO of NACD. “Our Fellows help advance the highest standards for those who serve in the boardroom, strengthening our businesses, and driving director professionalism. The impact of this program is unmatched and they should be commended for their ongoing commitment to their own professional development.”

Candidates for NACD's Fellowship Program complete a robust foundation course which focuses on topical matters and committee-specific issues, and build on that foundation with additional NACD education within a 12-month period.
