Cubic Global Defense chief technology officer to provide insight on virtual and augmented reality technologies in the military
SAN DIEGO – March 15, 2016 – Cubic Global Defense (CGD), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), today announced that Amy Kruse, Ph.D., vice president and chief technology officer (CTO), will participate in a panel discussion on the use of virtual reality in sports and military training at South by Southwest® (SXSW®) 2016 Conferences & Festivals held in Austin, Texas from March 11 – 20. SXSW is recognized as a premier destination for discovery and the convergence of original music, independent films and emerging technologies.
The panel Dr. Kruse is participating in is part of the VR/AR Convergence Track at the SXSW Interactive Festival. As CTO and former DARPA neuroscientist, Dr. Kruse will highlight the parallels between serious sports and military training as well as issues and limitations the military faces when using virtual and augmented reality technologies.
