Cubic Transportation Systems’ executive to highlight ways to improve mobility and commuter experience in complex city environments

SAN DIEGO – Sept 26, 2017 – Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced that Chris Bax, vice president of ITS global strategy, will discuss the importance of integrating systems to improve  efficiency in citywide transportation at the 2017 Australian Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Summit in Brisbane on September 27–28. Hosted by ITS Australia, with the theme “Transforming Transport,” the Australian ITS Summit brings together intelligent transport systems executives from around the world to discuss the latest in ITS technologies.

Bax will share insight on the ways systems can be integrated in order to improve transportation, harness insights from travel data and provide commuters with the information they need to make informed decisions for their journeys.

“As cities grow and new modes of transportation become available, travelers’ journeys become even more complex,” said Bax. “Government agencies have numerous – and often unconnected – systems that perform a number of standalone functions and produce a lot of untapped data. Through integrating these systems we can make transportation planning more efficient and effective, while greatly improving the customer experience.”

The accompanying ITS Australian exhibition will showcase the latest ITS achievements and innovations throughout the country. Cubic will be demonstrating its new transport management platform and the Australian Integrated Multimodal Transport Ecosystem (AIMES) at stand 6 in the foyer of the Boulevard Auditorium.

Cubic’s transport management platform gives agencies an integrated, multimodal view of what is happening on their networks by enabling the management of all customers’ assets such as road, train, light rail, bus and ferry through a single open platform and shared operational view. This platform forms the core of the AIMES test bed – the world’s first live ecosystem for implementing and testing emerging connected transport technologies on a large scale.

Bax will present the following topic within the “Session 6: Transport for Smart Cities II” technology track:

  • One Transport Account for Mobility”
Thursday, September 28, 11:00 a.m. (local time); Boulevard Auditorium, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
