SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 3, 2012 - Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) has completed delivery of a mobile Combat Training Center to the country of Jordan under a $17 million contract.

The Foreign Military Sales contract with the Jordanian Armed Forces was made through the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).

The agreement includes Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapons System (MILES IWS) units and units for instrumenting vehicles. In addition, it features an Exercise Control center and an After Action Review center each housed on trailers, allowing the system to be used on training ranges throughout the country.

Cubic’s state-of-the-art MILES IWS system uses eye-safe lasers on actual weapons to realistically simulate force-on-force combat, and records what happens for later review.

“This is a new capability for the Jordanian Armed Forces,” said Mike Collier, a senior program manager with Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), which makes the systems. “They have never trained force-on-force with MILES before.”

After delivering the system, Cubic personnel conducted three weeks of training about how to use it, followed by a week-long training exercise. The contract also specifies on site support and a two year warranty.

Cubic executives met with Jordanian officials to mark the delivery of the system.

“We are honored that the Jordanian Armed Forces has once again chosen a Cubic training product to enhance the security of the country,” said Brad Feldmann, president of Cubic Defense Applications. “The CTC will be the backbone of its live training program for years to come, and provide interoperability with the U.S. and other allied nations.”
