SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Aug. 20, 2014 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced the appointment of Suzanne Hatcher as director of corporate communications. Hatcher will lead Cubic’s corporate communications and public relations function, and report to Jay Thomas, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cubic Corporation.
In this role, Hatcher will be responsible for further developing Cubic’s corporate external, internal and marketing communication strategies, to ensure consistent messages are delivered in a well-coordinated manner across various stakeholders.
“As Cubic’s growth strategy continues to evolve in the mass transit and global defense markets, we’re investing in how we communicate and engage with public, industry, customers, stockholders and employees,” said Jay Thomas. “Suzanne brings strategic senior communication counsel to our Cubic team with her deep experience and innovative approach in managing large-scale initiatives. She will add immediate value across the company.”
Hatcher joins Cubic from Life Technologies, a biotechnology company recently acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she served in a global role as director of corporate communications and public relations. Previously, she worked at CareFusion and Sempra Energy in a variety of communication leadership roles.

Hatcher earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and advertising from the University of Miami, Fla. She also served in various local and regional board roles with International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
