Cubic Global Defense provided exercise control for Sweden’s largest military exercise

SAN DIEGO – Oct. 23, 2017 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced that its Cubic Global Defense (CGD) business division successfully participated in Exercise Aurora 2017. Aurora 17 is a national exercise conducted each year by the Swedish Armed Forces to strengthen and increase its defense capabilities. As the largest military exercise in Sweden, Aurora 17 involved more than 19,000 members from the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as personnel from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Lithuania, Norway and the United States.

Cubic’s CATS Metrix exercise control software allowed the Swedish Land Warfare Centre (MSS) to monitor, control and evaluate the exercise in addition to providing extensive After Action Review capabilities. The software was installed in two mobile trailers which were deployed during the brigade-level exercises in the Mälardalen and Stockholm regions. The system was operated by the Swedish MSS and supported by Cubic staff.

“Cubic is proud to have supported Sweden’s largest training exercise with our exercise control software and personnel,” said Dave Buss, president of Cubic Global Defense. “Our highly scalable and easy-to-use training system successfully evaluates defined goals, doctrine and tactics during live exercises and we are pleased to have provided these capabilities to improve the effectiveness and readiness of the Swedish Armed Forces.”

Aurora 17 took place from September 11 to September 29 in Mälardalen, Stockholm, Gotland and Gothenburg, Sweden.
