Breakiron-Evans to bring extensive expertise and financial background to the Cubic Board
SAN DIEGO – January 19, 2017 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced the nomination of accomplished financial executive Maureen Breakiron-Evans to the company’s board of directors. Breakiron-Evans will bring broad expertise in driving the transformation of financial and technology operations and major processes in high-volume, transaction-based businesses. Breakiron-Evans will be presented for election at the company’s annual shareholders meeting on February 20.
“Maureen will be a valuable addition to our board as she has a strong leadership, technology, financial and risk management background that will enhance and complement our board,” added Walter C. Zable, chairman of the board, Cubic Corporation. “We are confident that her expertise in the financial industry will strengthen the company and assist in addressing these issues.”
Breakiron-Evans served as the chief financial officer of Towers Perrin, a global professional services company, from 2007 to 2008. Prior to Towers Perrin, she was the vice president and general auditor of CIGNA Corporation, a health services organization, from 2005 to 2006 and was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Inovant, LLC, VISA’s captive technology development and transaction procession company, from 2001 to 2004.
Breakiron-Evans earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Art History from Stanford University, Master of Business Administration in Finance from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Mathematics from Stetson University.
In addition, Cubic announced that Dr. Robert S. Sullivan, Dean of the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego, has decided not to seek re-election to the board of directors and will end his term following the annual shareholders meeting in February.
“We thank Bob for his leadership and years of contribution to the Cubic board as the lead director and chairman of the Executive Compensation Committee, as well as a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee,” said Zable.
“It has been a pleasure serving on Cubic’s board for over twelve years and supporting the company through its period of change, reinvention and success,” said Sullivan. “I feel it is the appropriate time for me to step down from my responsibilities on the board, and believe the company is well positioned for the future.”
