SAN DIEGO, Calif. – April 22, 2014 –Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced that Steven John Norris, a UK businessman and former government minister, was appointed to the company’s board of directors and its nominating and corporate governance committee. Norris is a recognized authority on transport and infrastructure issues. Previously he served as a member of the Cubic Transportation Systems strategic advisory board.

Zable, executive chairman of the board, Cubic Corporation. “He brings a wealth of international experience from his career in public service, as well as the insights that come from a successful business career. He will be a great addition to our board.”
Norris became a Member of Parliament in 1983 and remained in government service until 1997. While serving as parliamentary under secretary of state for transport and minister for transport in former Prime Minister Sir John Major’s government, Norris was responsible for the Jubilee Line Extension, the largest extension of the London Underground network to date. He is also a former member of the board of Transport for London, which operates the London public transit system.
Following his leave from government service, Norris pursued a number of business interests and has been associated with many global companies both public and private. Currently, he is chairman of Soho Estates, BNP Paribas Real Estate UK and Virtus Data Centres Ltd. He also serves as the president of ITS UK, the sister organization of ITS US, both of which represent the transport technology business in their respective countries.

Norris received a Master of Arts in Jurisprudence with honors from Oxford University. He was the President of the Oxford University Law Society and won a Harmsworth Exhibition to the Middle Temple.
