Hoeft will guide cities to deploy advanced technologies that improve roadway safety, reduce congestion and provide valuable data
SAN DIEGO – Dec. 15, 2020 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced that Trafficware, which operates within its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division, has appointed Brian Hoeft to support Intelligent Infrastructure solutions and lead the design and implementation of global Intelligent Infrastructure and Systems for customers. As a growing number of cities are exploring advanced transportation solutions, Hoeft will work side-by-side with public sector customers to provide design and technology acquisition guidance to future-proof transportation infrastructure investments.
Hoeft brings extensive experience to Trafficware as the former director of the Freeway and Arterial Systems of Transportation (FAST) at the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s (RTC) traffic management center. His leadership on the FAST team positioned the Las Vegas region as a global technology leader in real-world Connected Vehicle applications. Under Hoeft’s direction, FAST was recognized by former U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx as a winner in the Data Innovation Challenge for the FAST Dashboard, a performance measurement and reporting tool, that assisted the Federal Highway Administration in its industry-leading traffic signal performance measures.
“Brian provides a unique value proposition for our customers, having walked in their shoes for many years,” said Joe Custer, vice president and general manager of Trafficware, Cubic Transportation Systems. “His understanding of the client’s needs, challenges and expertise to develop solutions to achieve their objectives will help Trafficware best match our hardware and software technologies to the customer’s needs.”
Hoeft earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Brigham Young University. He has also taught a graduate-level Intelligent Transportation System course at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
