Accelerating the Future of Live Virtual Constructive Training Convergence
Join us virtually at vIITSEC where we’ll feature our innovative training solutions that deliver the convergence of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) solutions into one synthetic environment that replicate the complexities of the All-Domain battlespace. With more than 30 years of experience, our NextTraining™ portfolio delivers cutting edge capabilities that deliver critical warfighting skills necessary to achieve mission success -- no matter the conditions or adversary.
Disruptive technologies—artificial intelligence, virtual/augmented/mixed reality, distributed training, big data analytics, and lifelong learning technologies—are transforming the way we train, fight, work, and learn. Five leading CEOs from the training and simulation industry share their thoughts, insights, and forecasts on the most promising technologies aimed at optimizing warfighter performance. This interactive panel will provide a setting for technology industry leaders to describe experiences taken from defense and adjacent markets, such as critical healthcare, law enforcement, and aviation. They will provide a “View from the Top”, a C-suite perspective on innovation that works to impact mission effectiveness and give a winning edge to the warfighter.
Panelists:
Michael Knowles, President, Cubic Mission & Performance Solutions
Daniel Serfaty, Founder & CEO, Aptima, Inc.
Ulrik Christensen, CEO, Area9 Lyceum
Don Ariel, Chairman and CEO, Raydon Corporation
Marlo Brooke, Founder & CEO, Avatar Partners
Cubic is supporting the Synthetic Training Environment’s (STE) mission to deliver a close combat immersive simulation training capability addressing critical squad collective and individual combat skills. Cubic’s solution will support STE Squad Capability (SSC), Weapon Skill Development (WSD), Joint Fires Training (JFT), and Use of Force (UoF), in a single capability that can be conducted simultaneously or individually and enable physical movement/exertion related to the execution of Soldier/Marine individual and squad collective training tasks.
Urban Operations Training System
Cubic’s Urban Operations Training System (UOTS) is an evolutionary advancement of our Area Weapons Effects System (AWES). UOTS provides real-time battlefield effects controlled by Exercise Control (EXCON) and delivers integrated training experiences that improve operational readiness and reduce training costs. Our UOTS brings command and control within urban training environment, as well as enhanced battlefield effects, including audio cues, aromatic stimuli and visual stimulation to replicate realistic conditions that soldiers will encounter during urban combat.
Scalable Immersive Virtual Environment Training
The Total Learning Platform ™ provides an effective and compelling training platform using immersive, 3-D environments to train sailors on content and procedures that are required for skill set qualification in settings and situations similar to those in which they actually perform. These training technologies can dramatically improve learning, retention, and performance in a cost-effective manner. Delivering proven blended training solutions to the US Navy since 2013, our common baseline is supported by a robust Learning Management System (LMS) across all Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) levels.
Cubic is revolutionizing Force on Force training in the Live Training environment to enable realistic weapons engagements including beyond-line-of-sight engagements. Weapon orientation information is captured using a sensor fusion-enabled Weapon Orientation Module which enables the use of “e-bullets” to accurately emulate the flight of rounds fired, and terminal effects on targets. By employing a data-driven solution to support real-time adjudication, limitations inherent to current TESS solutions are eliminated. By using Augmented Reality, battlefield effects are delivered to the Solider in real-time to further enhance the training experience.
Cubic was recently awarded a $8.5M task order under the NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement to continue maturation of the Secure Live Virtual and Constructive Advanced Training Environment (SLATE) core enabling technologies for PMA-265’s Advanced Programs Team. After the highly successful Advanced Technology Demonstration in September 2018 validated full Synthetic Inject to Live (SITL) LVC technologies in Fleet F/A-18 and F-15E aircraft to TRL-7, NAVAIR awarded Cubic a task order to further mature the system’s capabilities to TRL 8 and reduce risk in transitioning SITL-LVC to the Fleet. The work being performed is supporting the Advanced LVC IPT team to prepare the system for demonstration of Advanced guising and replication of the near-peer threat using Live F/A-18 Super Hornets and F-35 virtual participants conducting advanced Fighter Integration tactics at Pax River, MD in September of 2021.
