Interoperability and Readiness at the Point of Need
Cubic Defense enables realistic training, allowing warfighters to “train like you fight” to stay ahead of pacing peer threats. Cubic’s Live, Virtual and Constructive training solutions authentically replicate the complexity and density of the battlespace and delivers new levels of interoperability and capability at the point of need, empowering superior multi-domain force readiness.
Advanced Training Environment (ATE)
Cubic Defense unveiled the Advanced Training Environment (ATE) during Valiant Shield 2024 in the USINDOPACIFIC AOR. The ATE combines instrumentation, blended synthetic inject to live – live virtual constructive (SITL-LVC), and SPEAR (Simplified, Planning Execution Analysis and Reconstruction) common data model technologies to emulate potential peer fight scenarios with authentic complexity and density. Utilizing the ATE, the Warfighter can mirror representative advanced threats in real-world combat scenarios, enable precise assessment of training proficiency, and support the test of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) used by U.S. Military Service, Joint, and Coalition integrated operations.
Speed to Insight for Real-World Operations, Training, and Test
SPEAR (Simplified Planning Execution Analysis and Reconstruction) is a revolutionary common data model (CDM) software tool for multi-domain operations, training, and test. SPEAR implements a modern, DoD approved tech stack that reduces cognitive burden through optimizing the displays and analytics for kill chain events, mission rehearsal, live monitoring, resource management and debrief. SPEAR’s data architecture allows for ingest and lossless export of objective and subjective data including, LVC, kinetic and non-kinetic effects, as well as weapon fly out. Enriched data through SPEAR provides the required data labeling for performance and predictive analytics, learning management, readiness assessments and AI/ML algorithms.
LTS Soldier Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) Soldier platform is a training multiplier in terms of training units and soldiers. LTS Soldier replaces legacy harness-based systems with wireless independent, small and lightweight components that can be universally configured to a soldier's tactical equipment. Cubic’s LTS Soldier platform is 60% lighter than legacy Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) variants, simulating both the firing capabilities and the vulnerability of soldiers, as well as a means to objectively assess weapon effects during training to provide unit commanders with an integrated training system for use at Home Station or Combat Training Centers.
LTS Vehicle Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) Vehicle platform simulates both the firing capabilities and the vulnerabilities of the vehicle and also serves as a means to objectively assess weapons effects during training to provide unit commanders an integrated training system for use at Home Station, local training areas, instrumented training areas and Combat Training Centers (CTCs). LTS Vehicle can be used on any tactical/combat wheeled or tracked vehicle and works in tandem with other Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) equipment to provide the most detailed and accurate training feedback.
LTS Artillery Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) Artillery platform is a wireless Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) solution that can be deployed across a range of artillery platforms (towed, self-propelled). The system simulates all artillery drills to enable both enhanced individual training and allows artillery to realistically integrate into instrumented live training environments. The LTS Artillery platform simulates the full range of weapon effects, while also exercising the complete artillery system of systems (SoS) from observer to platform, including Mission Command (MC) systems and logistics. Individual and collective training is achievable as LTS Artillery fills the training gap between theoretical drills and live firing, as well as enabling artillery units to realistically train as part of live, instrumented force-on-force engagement training.
LTS Mortar Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) Mortar platform is a surrogate mortar cannon with smart cannon module which interface to tactical baseplates, mounts and surrogate ammunition for use in the live training environment. All other equipment associated with the mortar including sights, aiming stakes and associated equipment is used with the system coming from tactical inventory. Operation of the Mortar Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) emulates live fire procedures including establishment of a Mortar Firing Point and conduct of indirect fires. As a fully integrated training system, effects generated by the mortar TESS are propagated across CTC-IS networks and systems delivering real-time casualty effect to other TESS equipped Soldiers and vehicles, as well as data to support Exercise Control and After-Action Review functions. Use of the system reinforces good tactical and procedural skills for mortar sections and brings to bear the effects of indirect fires in Force on Force live training previously only emulated through administrative simulation injects.
LTS - Virtual in Live
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) Virtual in Live (VIL) platform enables multi-domain training through integrated Live, Virtual, and Constructive training environments. The platform integrates field-deployable observation systems to support indirect fire training on multiple Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS). Observations systems provide a multi-domain environment for use both in barracks and in the field. The system enables units and formations to train and exercise in the integration of Joint Fires, Mission Command (MC) systems, Air Defense, and Sustainment functions.
LVC Simulation of Chemical and Radiological Threats
The CBRN CTSS provides high fidelity LVC simulation of chemical and biological threats to provide realistic training to battlefield participants, Tier 1 CBRND responders and Tier 2 specialist response and initial analysis specialist. The CBRND CTSS adapts and integrates various best of breed sim products in an IEEE 802.15.4 open wireless network architecture.
