Tomorrow’s fight will be different. A new advantage is needed. To train and deliver a superior warfighting advantage across all domains. Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions addresses these challenges with NextAdvantage™️, a complementary portfolio of solutions that deliver unprecedented realism, superior readiness, and economic efficiency, preparing warfighters to face an advanced and near-peer capable enemy anywhere, anytime.
Cubic’s industry leading, performance-based training solutions include: Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training, immersive simulation, game-based learning, air combat training and high-fidelity combat training systems. Visit us at I/ITSEC in booth #1948.
Closing the Peer Adversary Training Gap
Cubic, industry, and government have demonstrated/proven that SITL LVC can be achieved with minimal investment and low risk to close the live-training proficiency gap by 2025. SLATE injects synthetic entities from human-operated simulators (Virtual) and computer-generated-forces (Constructive) into live cockpits: platforms, weapons, and effects across the electromagnetic (EM)/infrared (IR) spectrums. Validated with operational USAF and USN fighter aircraft in over 97 sorties in 2018, Cubic delivered a Joint MILS NSA Type 1 encrypted SITL-LVC ACTS solution using Industry Open Standard protocols and US Government owned 5GATW data link to the CAF DMON standard. The architecture is built for 4th and 5th Gen platforms leveraging existing ACTS infrastructure. September of this year, the USN demonstrated SITL-LVC with live fighter aircraft, virtual simulators, to include the F-35 EBS, and hundreds of constructive injects, by maturing the SLATE technology to TRL-8. The USN will incorporate the SLATE capabilities into their TCTSII Program of Record in order to field LVC training to the Fleet as quickly as possible. No other company has actually demonstrated an ability to inject virtual (simulator flown) and constructive (computer generated) synthetic injects into live fighter cockpit displays at LFE scale, bringing a training capability to prepare for a peer threat fight.
Truth in Training
SPEAR is a modern, DoD approved tech stack that reduces cognitive burden through optimized displays & analytics of kinetic and non-kinetic data, with weapons effects, in multi-domain operations and LVC environments. SPEAR melds objective and subjective data with time sync’d mission log in real time and for after action reporting. SPEAR ingests lossless data and provides and stores outputs in analyzable format(s) for Learning Management System inclusion. Users are able to open one program, authenticate/optimize via credentials, and access callable “workspaces”. SPEAR server/client architecture allows for seamless distributed debrief and execution at geographically separated units in real time. Before, during, and after training missions, SPEAR uses channelization to process all data ingest and adjudication at the same time from every SPEAR client. SPEAR gets you to “What Happened?” quickly, leaving more time to figure out “Why it Happened?”
Accelerating Live Training Realism
Cubic is the leading provider of Combat Training Centers’ Instrumentation around the world and is recognized to be the most advanced live training systems provider, adding simulation realism for the US Army. Cubic is invested in helping the U.S. Army realize it's goals for the Synthetic Training Environment. At the core of Cubic’s Training systems is a modular, open architecture that provides backward compatibly to fielded systems and the current training infrastructure and is designed to also be forward looking and is Synthetic Training Environment (STE) ready.
Cubic provides more simulation realism with the smallest form factor in Manworn, a TRL 9 Personal Area Network (PAN), and Enhanced Player Interface Module (EPIM) that provides for LT2 compliance, backwards compatibility, multi-band capable, and decentralized adjudication. Cubic’s solution is inherently and wholly interoperable. We use Common Training Instrumentation Architecture (CTIA)/LTEC’s) mature, open Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA) that is designed for live training exercises.
Universal Laser-less Training Architecture
A revolutionary approach that solves technical and training limitations of the U.S. Army’s I-MILES family of trainers by providing the ability to replicate the ballistic trajectory of munitions with realistic simulation of a munition’s effect upon impact. It solves the limitations of laser-based solutions to shoot through obscurant and concealment with Soldiers being made aware of the effects of incoming rounds or other events that would be evident to the Soldier in live combat.
Improving Live Firing Competence Through an Immersive Indirect Fire Training Ecosystem
Cubic will stream a demonstration of live gunnery training on an operational howitzer from the UK, with LVC target effects in-booth as it happens. The system has been in use with our British customer for the last three years and shows just how the synthetic training environment is not only within reach but is in fact already fielded.
Sailor and Ship Readiness Across the Surface Fleet
Cubic’s Virtual Ship Environment (VSE) for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a game-based learning (GBL) technology that supports the U.S. Navy’s Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment Littoral Combat Ship (STAVE-LCS) program by immersing trainees in a cutting-edge, 3-D virtual environment that is an accurate digital representation of the real-life shipboard environment. Our GBL solutions accelerate learning and enhance knowledge retention with unlimited “reps and sets.” The depth and breadth of Cubic’s STAVE-LCS implementation is unparalleled, dwarfing any current or prior game-based learning development effort. Cubic is honored to continue to provide cutting edge blended training solutions to the US Navy as prime contractor under the Surface Training Immersive Gamming and Simulations (STIGS) IDIQ as well as the Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) FY21 IDIQ.
