Overview
Australasian Simulation Congress (ASimC) 2019 will explore the theme of Balance and Disruption. Organised by Simulation Australasia, the event brings together industry professionals and their customers to discuss and demonstrate the latest simulation technologies, research and practice.
The event is held across three streams:
- Health
- Technology and Training
- Serious Games.
ASimC celebrates simulation and modelling as essential tools used to test ideas and systems and to enable training for complex scenarios.
Cubic will demonstrate its range of integrated multi-domain live, virtual and constructive training solutions.
The Integrated Training Environment (ITE) provides instrumentation for the Integrated Soldier System and the Land Combat Vehicle System in home station and high-end collective training, across force-on-force, live fire and force-on-target activities. The architecture is open with interoperable standards, The EXCON and the SHRIKE gateway enable live, virtual and constructive blending to address training requirements at multiple training levels. The ITE is suitable for amphibious and aviation operating environments and can replicate CBRND effects in collective training. A synthetic wrap delivers joint synthetic effects securely down to individual soldier and platform in the field.
Cubic’s Synthetic Wrap demonstration will highlight how the live training environment can be expanded through the addition of virtual and constructive training systems. These allow the soldier to train with platforms and deliver effects that would otherwise be prohibited by cost, scarcity or safety. Synthetic wrap seamlessly integrates the delivery of virtual and constructive Joint Fires and Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) effects into field training.
CATS MetrixTM is a sophisticated software product used for Exercise Control (EXCON) and After-Action Review (AAR) by operators and instructors to plan, conduct, control, monitor, record, debrief and evaluate live force-on-force training from Squad to Brigade Level. CATS MetrixTM provides automated operator support to evaluate defined goals, doctrines and tactics during a live exercise.
NEXUS Analytics is a modular system that collects and synthesises data from existing systems. NEXUS Analytics provides a data-backed understanding of soldier/unit readiness enabling forces to conduct short, medium and long-term learning to enhance their combat capabilities. It is a compelling capability for combat training centres that need to analyse and interpret large amounts of data collected from live, virtual, constructive (LVC) and observatory systems.
The EXONAUT® Software Suite, developed by Cubic’s strategic partner 4C Strategies, enables planning, scheduling, event management, observations, trends analysis and compliance/evaluation of training activities. EXONAUT is complemented at the lowest tactical levels by data analysis tools employing algorithms for ‘Maintenance of Momentum’, heat mapping for casualties, and spider graph tracking for information flows through the tactical echelon. The instrumentation suite includes interfaces to bio-metric measurement and analysis tools. The complete suite addresses performance analysis requirements from the soldier to the major Joint Task Force level.

Supporting Legacy
Legacy Week (from 1-8 September) coincides with Australasian Simulation Congress. Legacy Week is the annual nationwide appeal that raises awareness and funds for Legacy's work supporting the families of incapacitated and deceased veterans.
As a proud Legacy supporter, Cubic encourages organisations to show their support for the important work of Legacy by making a financial contribution and buying a badge or other merchandise during Legacy Week.
Funds raised through simulation congress will be dedicated to the Legacy Brisbane Family Assist program. This program helps the families of incapacitated veterans and assists them in coping as they support the veteran through physical and mental conditions resulting from their Defence service.
The Legacy Week appeal has been running since the 1940s and is a time for all Australians to show their support for the widows and children whose loved ones have served our country. Funds raised through the national appeal enable Legacy to continue to provide essential services such as counselling, special housing, medical, advocacy and social support to more than 52,000 beneficiaries nationally. Public support also helps Legacy nurture children’s education by contributing towards school fees, books, uniforms and recreational activities to aid self-development and confidence.
Your support will make a big impact to the families of those who have given so much. Donate here.
