The “world’s oldest calendar air show” kicked off its 52nd annual event at the Paris-Le Bourget Airport on Monday, June 19. Quoting the San Diego Union Tribune, “Southern California companies plan to pack a powerful punch in Paris [at the Paris Air Show,] accounting for 41 businesses out of the 387 American companies currently on schedule to exhibit their products and services at Le Bourget.”
Cubic’s industry-leading, air combat training systems were on display at the 2017 Paris Air Show. CGD president and former Navy “Air Boss,” Dave Buss led the Cubic team’s efforts in booth 3-B158.
Among the various air combat training solutions displayed at the show, Cubic’s “Top Gun” P5CTS training system was highlighted. Providing real-time training for combat missions, this system displays live-air pictures, records mission data and relays Time, Space and Positioning Information between participating aircraft during training sorties. - Secure Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI): The Cubic Miniature Encryptor solution provides increased security for the P5CTS pod and ground station. - Synthetic Training Environment (STE): Cubic’s Tactical Engagement System and LVC simulation delivers a deployable and scalable arms mission training capability back into the hands of the unit commander.
- Bandit Board: Integrated, tactical training capability that transmits the live P5CTS picture into an aggressor pilot’s electronic kneeboard. Watch the video.
- Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS): An advanced Windows-based aircrew combat display and debrief software system that is operated by multiple air forces worldwide and compliant with U.S cybersecurity mandates.
