About Us
We support a range of programs and solutions for the Australian Defence Force, as well as being the Australian representatives of the global Cubic Defense business.
Our offering includes training and simulation systems and services, as well as Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions.
We formed as a commercial entity in Townsville in 2007 and have been growing our company and workforce since that time. We now have team members based at Townsville, Brisbane, Amberley, Williamtown, Sydney, Canberra and Perth.
The Combat Training Centre – Live Instrumentation System (CTC-LIS) is a live simulation system that instruments soldiers, vehicles, weapons, helicopters, amphibious platforms and facilities (buildings).
It provides the Australian Army with the capability to conduct objective and realistic simulated training for unit formations from Platoon to Battlegroup.
Cubic is the contractor supporting the CTC-LIS. This means we support the planning and delivery of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training through exercises of varying scale. We support exercises around Australia through the operation, support and maintenance of laser-based instrumentation, virtual fire support, radio telemetry, exercise information and communication systems.
The objective of the CTC-LIS is to enhance the learning experience of the force undergoing training. It helps to train and evaluate combat team leaders and their combined arms team in a realistic battlefield environment, which replicates as closely as possible, force-on-force engagements, battlefield stress and other battlefield effects.
Cubic is the prime Training Support Contractor at Australia’s Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC). Our team supports the development and delivery of local and distributed simulation-enabled training events, providing a wide range of simulation planning, technical support and professional interactors.
The NSWC facilitates warfare training, and command and control training for the Royal Australian Navy, as well as Joint and Combined Forces. It supports training at the individual, team, unit and force level.
Cubic provides maintenance and debrief services to the Royal Australian Air Force for Air Ranges and Debrief Support (ARDS) contract.
ARDS provides fast-jet aircrew training in air-to-air, and air-to-ground operations and tactics using GPS technology to track and record aircraft position. It uses the Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation (ACMI) system consisting of pods fitted to aircraft (wings). The pods attach to an aircraft missile launcher and are powered by the aircraft's onboard power. Each pod is a complex array of modern avionics, electronics, and computer systems.
Cubic supports the design and execution of advanced exercises and specialised training, as required by the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force. We are able to provide exercise planning and management support, simulated environmental effects, medical training support and personnel capability, such as role players.
