Paul Shew
Senior Vice President & President of Cubic Defense
Paul Shew is the Senior Vice President of Cubic Corporation and President of Cubic Defense. He will lead the strategic vision for Cubic Defense and its product lines, with a strong focus on driving growth in partnership with existing and new customers.
Prior to joining Cubic, Shew was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Integrated Defense Systems in CAES (Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions), a provider of highly engineered electronic products for aerospace and defense prime integrators. He oversaw the operational transformation of an international multi-site division, while increasing profitability through technology investments and capacity expansions. With full P&L responsibility of a Radar, Electronic Warfare, and CNI Division, Shew aligned growth plans and value creation plans that maximized investment in technology, people, facilities and infrastructure, which returned maximum value for all stakeholders.
Shew’s focus is to create value from lean principles across multiple dimensions of the organization, while building growth plans based on strategically aligned pipeline continuity with technology investment, industry trends, and customer needs. Shew believes that you are ‘only as good as your last game,’ and it is imperative to execute flawlessly for customers in order to build lasting trust and steadfast business relationships.
Prior to CAES, Shew held various leadership roles at General Atomics and United Technologies Corporation, where he built aftermarket teams, oversaw critical R&D investments, and led highly-engaged teams focused on day-to-day improvement and business performance visibility.
Shew holds an MBA and Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from University College Dublin and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin. He believes in the value of teamwork and developing thriving work cultures, through the inclusion of thoughts, opinions and ideas from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
