Cubic Global Defense (CGD) recently participated in the 10th Annual Capitol Hill Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Expo that was held at the Rayburn House in Washington D.C. for members of Congress and their staff. This event was sponsored by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and was designed to showcase how M&S technologies can be effectively applied to support national defense, homeland security and medical training.

CGD was honored to be selected to demonstrate our training technologies and capabilities at the expo. Our on-site demonstration provided an overview of Cubic’s instrumented (live) and simulator-based (virtual) training technologies that are ready for integration within the Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) domains of the U.S. military training continuum. A key focus of our demonstration was Cubic’s naval and ground training systems, specifically our Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Immersive Virtual Shipboard Environment (IVSE). This demonstration illustrated how trainees can utilize the courseware to achieve qualification for naval task performance in a realistic virtual world enabled by a highly immersive gaming engine, dynamic performance tracking, intelligent tutoring and tactile interaction with replicas of actual shipboard equipment.  Our Cubic team, pictured here with Congressman Ryan Zinke, a member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), was pleased with the high level of interest in Cubic’s training technologies and the direct conversations that were had with various Congressional leaders.

Congressman J. Randy Forbes, the founder and long-time co-chairman of the Congressional Modeling & Simulation Caucus, commented on the growing number of attendees at the M&S Expo and the importance of the technology being presented at this event. Congressman Forbes has consistently promoted M&S technologies as a cost effective means to enhance U.S. military training and readiness.  His work in this regard has increased the level of awareness among his congressional colleagues and their staffs, making participation at events like the M&S Expo on Capitol Hill a privilege to participate in.
