Cubic’s UK Subsidiary Welcomes New Business
Development Director

David Phillips has been appointed as the Business Development Director for Cubic Transportation Systems Limited in the UK.  In his new role, he will be responsible for the business development and revenue planning for the region and will report to Managing Director Nigel Bryant. 

To support Prestige and related contracts which are priorities for the UK region, Phillips will actively collaborate with all departments to strengthen customer relationships and manage work streams with greater efficiency.

Previously, Phillips worked in the transport, utilities and defense sectors in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.  He has been actively involved in the European rail market for more than 12 years, and specifically within the partly privatized London Underground system.

Recently, at QinetiQ, a defense company that supports the transit security administration in the U.S., Phillips led the European Union study of the technology road map for aviation security. His study addressed critical issues of passenger and crew safety, and the securing of both freight and facilities.

Phillips is a professional Chartered Civil Engineer, with a degree in civil and structural Engineering and has undergone training in the UK military.

Augie Cammarota to Lead Systems Test Group

Augie Cammarota has been promoted to Director of Systems Test, where he will oversee the departments responsible for verifying prior to release the integrity and contractual compliance of software produced by Cubic’s development groups.

A Cubic employee for more than 10 years, Cammarota has held positions as a technical writer, trainer and supervisor of the Technical Publications group.   Most recently as Engineering Services manager, he was responsible for Training and Documentation.

“This transition is a natural fit for Augie,” said Richard Schulman, Director of Quality Assurance.  “His strong managerial talents and attention to detail make him ideal for this role, where his talents will positively impact program schedules and budgets.  Our customers can expect to benefit from his advocacy and leadership in this key area.”

Cammarota’s primary goal is to bridge the gap between Systems Test and Engineering Services while producing more efficient information processing, training and documentation procedures. 

He has a bachelors degree in Education from Southern Illinois University and a master of science degree in Human Resource Management from Chapman University.
