Cubic to Showcase Live and Virtual Training Systems at Major Military Exhibition in Amman Jordan

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 1, 2008 -- The defense segment of Cubic Corporation (Amex: CUB), will showcase its advanced live and virtual training systems this week at the Special Operations and Homeland Security Exhibition (SOFEX) in Amman, Jordan. The event is held under the Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who will be launching the activities of SOFEX 2008 supported by the Jordan Armed Forces.

The four-day event attracts thousands of participants around the world, including leading defense contractors, key military officials and government delegations from the Middle East and North Africa.

Cubic will have a major presence in the U.S. Pavilion with a live demonstration of its virtual small arms training system - the Engagement Skills Training System (EST 2000) - along with hands-on displays of air and land-based combat training systems.

"We are honored to have the opportunity to demonstrate our next-generation training solutions to our allies in the Gulf region," said John Naff, Cubic's vice president of Business Development in the Middle East. "Our training systems replicate actual combat scenarios and provide the critical information for 'lessons learned' - a key element for combat readiness and troop survival.

At SOFEX 2008, Cubic will highlight the following products and capabilities:

* EST 2000 - U.S. Army's #1 small arms training system - which teaches vital marksmanship and judgmental "shoot-don't shoot" tactics. Cubic has delivered more than 1,000 EST 2000 systems around the world, including 11 sites in Jordan. Cubic is showcasing its five-lane system at SOFEX, along with EST Plus capabilities that provide an immersive, offensive training environment.

* MILES Training Systems, which provide the most realistic force-on-force training for infantry and armor forces. Cubic has delivered over 125,000 systems worldwide, including a recent delivery of its MILES 2000 system to the Kuwait Special Forces. At SOFEX, Cubic will display MILES 2000 as well as a wireless MILES Personal Area Network (PAN) product and the U.S. Army's next-generation Individual Weapons System (MILES IWS).

* Urban Operations Training Systems, which provide flexible, scalable training solutions for both military training and homeland security. Cubic's instrumented urban training systems feature seamless indoor/outdoor tracking capabilities and are interoperable with engagement simulation systems and Combat Training Centers (CTCs).

* Transportable Live Training Capability, which ensure high-fidelity CTC training at anywhere at anytime. Cubic’s mobile CTC systems are fully scalable; support squad through brigade level training; and provide robust exercise control and after-action review capabilities. Cubic is providing transportable CTCs to the U.S. Army, Australia, Romania, Slovakia and a Middle Eastern customer.

* Air Combat Training Systems, which provide highly realistic pilot training in weapon delivery and tactics. Cubic's turnkey systems feature rangeless capabilities that allow pilots to train without a fixed range as well as a portable PC-based aircrew display system, known as the Individual Aircrew Display System (ICADS). At SOFEX, Cubic is displaying its airborne pod, which collects in-flight events and data, then records and transmits the information to ground stations.

Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), one of Cubic Corporation’s major segments, is a world leader in realistic combat training systems, mission support services and defense electronics. The corporation’s other major segment, Cubic Transportation Systems, designs and manufactures automatic fare collection systems for public mass transit authorities.
