Multiple Missions. Multiple Platforms.
One Common Data Link Solution
Cubic’s
comprehensive data link products provide intelligence, surveillance
and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities for land, air and sea military
operations. The data links allow military commanders to obtain
near real-time images and data to precisely locate and identify
enemy targets – anywhere, at anytime – in a network-centric
environment.
Consisting of an air data terminal and ground data terminal, Cubic’s
data link system provides secure, air-to-ground transmission of
streaming video, radar, laser, infrared and other sensor information.
Our advanced common data links feature high-bandwidth, spectrally-
efficient CDL-standard waveforms up to 274 Mbps. The products
are lightweight, cost-effective and expandable.
Cubic’s Tactical
Common Data Links (TCDL) feature an open-standard design to
ensure interoperability among multiple platforms. The data links
are adaptable to a variety of configurations for Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles (UAVs), manned fixed wing, rotary wing, shipboard and
ground-based platforms.
Leveraging technologies gained from the 18-year Joint
STARS program, Cubic’s current data link programs and
products include the following:n NAVY AN/USQ-167 CDL – The
U.S. Navy’s next-generation communications data link system.
It is the first Navy CDL that can support
all standard CDL network interfaces. It is faster, lighter and
more cost-
effective than current shipboard systems.

-
RQ-7B SHADOW® TCDL
– A U.S. Army program to integrate a reduced-size TCDL
aboard the RQ-7B Shadow® 200 unmanned combat aircraft system
manufactured by AAI Corporation. The small, lightweight TCDL
weighs less than 12 pounds.
- UK
WATCHKEEPER TCDL/HIDL –
The UK military’s first network-enabled UAV system. Cubic
is providing the primary data link (TCDL) and secondary data
link, High
Integrity Data Link (HIDL) for this extensive network.
- RQ/MQ-8B
FIRE SCOUT TCDL
– The first DoD unmanned vehicle to incorporate Cubic’s
TCDL, which will serve as the wireless link between Northrop
Grumman’s Fire Scout UAV and control stations aboard littoral
combat ships.
- TEAM
PORTABLE TCDL – The first portable TCDL featuring
small, lightweight components that can be hand-carried and easily
assembled by the warfighter on the ground. Cubic is developing
the team-portable TCDL for the U.S. Marine Corps.
-
MINI-CDL –
An Air Force Research Lab program to develop a low-cost, miniature
CDL terminal for UAVs under 30 pounds. Cubic is a subcontractor
to Rockwell Collins on this research-and-development effort.
- MINI-RVT
MULTIFUNCTION TACTICAL TRANSCEIVER
– offers the war fighter a clear alternative for tactical
ISR communications. This compact portable unit provides situational
awareness, targeting and surveillance information from full-motion
video and telemetry data.
- ASTOR
NDLS – The UK military’s first anti-jam
broadcast data link for secure, long-range surveillance aboard
Bombardier Global Express jets.
