Lithuania
In December 2001, Cubic assisted the Government of Lithuania (GOL)
with their final review of the National Security Strategy, providing
quality assurance and professional advice for a complete and comprehensive
NSS. The GOL’s objective for this task was to have a final NSS document
ready for submission to the November 2002 NATO Summit in Prague,
Czech Republic. This goal was met.
In November 2002, Cubic began a more intensive, long term support
effort in Lithuania. This more intensive effort, the Lithuanian
Defense Reform Program (DRP) will last for a five-year period. Cubic
will provide
military planning expertise initially in the form of National Military
Strategy development. Other restructuring and modernization activities
will be supported as necessary for NATO integration, and continued
modernization and restructuring of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Part of the current effort will include a needs study and design
effort for a simulation training center. In addition, Cubic analysts
will focus on Personnel. Logistics, Force Design/Development and
the Planning, Programming and Budgeting System.
